about

Heather Whinney trained as a home economist and then went on to be the cookery school manager of the Cordon Vert cookery school where she stayed for 6 years. It was there she discovered her love of magazine and recipe writing, through editing the cookery pages of the Vegetarian magazine.

After freelancing for several years and working on magazines such as Good Housekeeping and Woman and Home she then joined Prima magazine as the deputy food editor then moved 3 years later to become food editor of Family Circle magazine where she remained for a further 3 years before returning to Prima magazine as their food editor.

After 5 years on this magazine she went on to be freelance and has just completed a cookery book, ‘cook express’ for DK Publishing which is published in October 2009. She is currently now working on another cookery book project and writing for several lifestyle magazines.
